Marina Bay Sands Singapore: SkyPark, Casino & Everything to Know
Marina Bay Sands is Singapore's most audacious piece of architecture — three 55-storey hotel towers connected at the top by a 340-metre SkyPark that cantilevers 65 metres beyond the edge of the northernmost tower, supporting a 150-metre infinity pool, observation decks, restaurants, and gardens visible from across the city. Designed by Moshe Safdie and opened in 2010, it cost $5.7 billion to build and has defined Singapore's skyline more dramatically than any single structure since.
The SkyPark Observation Deck (Level 57) is open to non-hotel guests for a fee (roughly SGD 32 for adults) and provides 360-degree views across Marina Bay, the Straits of Johor, and on clear days, Malaysia. The infinity pool is for hotel guests only — one of the most photographed swimming pools in the world, it appears to extend over the city edge with no visible barrier. The SkyPark gardens and the restaurants at that level (Cut, Spago by Wolfgang Puck) are bookable independently of a hotel stay.
The casino at ground level is Singapore's larger of two licensed casinos — open 24 hours, accessible to foreigners without a levy (Singapore citizens and permanent residents pay SGD 150 per entry as a social deterrent). The gaming floor covers over 15,000 square metres with over 2,500 slot machines and 500 tables. The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands below the hotel is the premium retail experience: approximately 800,000 square feet of luxury retail including Louis Vuitton's largest Southeast Asian store, and a canal running through the lower levels with bumboat rides.
The hotel rooms with SkyPark access are priced as a significant luxury purchase; the observation deck visit is the most cost-effective way to experience the building's scale.
